Jan Malina

Jan Malina, Past National Representative for Sweden, passed away peacefully on 23rd October 2011, reports his son, Martin Malina, also a vascular surgeon now working as Chief of Vascular Surgery in Malmö. Jan always appreciated the friendly atmosphere and lively debate at the AIVS. He always felt that the AIVS offered a unique opportunity to discuss vascular surgery with very good friends and pioneers in a beautiful and informal environment. Combining personal friendship with science is not getting any easier nowadays and Jan always held the view that the AIVS has an important role in the future.
